DMM Void

The Void is the perfect climber’s duffle bag. It has a tough but lightweight design, with a series of well thought out features. The padded zip top panel gives easy access and a comfortable carry. There is a choice of rucksack shoulder straps or grab handles – take your pick, depending on the situation. Inside there are several useful features which help to keep your kit well organised, including large and small valuables pockets, high visibility material and compression straps. It comes in three colour coded size options (45l, 75l and 100l) – whichever you choose, a Void bag is the perfect way to carry your kit on an expedition or holiday.

A comfortable and easy carry

The moulded lid panel gives a comfortable carry when the bag is set up with rucksack straps. The foam pad is reassuringly firm and will protect your back from hard objects, such as your climbing rack. The shoulder strap buckles are quick release, which means you can switch them quickly at the airport check in.

If you aren’t using the shoulder straps they can be stored away safely using the internal buckles – this also provides a way of securing/compressing the load internally.

The top grab handles can easily be cinched together with a padded Velcro wrap. They also have press studs on the side so that they can be stashed out of the way when you are using the bag in rucksack carrying mode – this avoids snagging both the grab handles and the shoulder straps when loading yourself up. There are two additional grab handles, one at either end, to help lift and carry the bag during transit.

Easy access

The lid panel is hinged in sections so that you can get easy access to each part of the bag. The lockable panel zip is heavy duty YKK and can be zipped in either direction. The inside walls of the bag are lined with a bright yellow material which reflects light in, making it easier to find what you are looking for.

Useful features

Inside the bag there are a number of useful features which help to keep your kit well organised. There is a stash for the shoulder straps which doubles as a compress for the bag contents. The A4 sized pocket is easily accessible and is ideal for travel documents. The small zip pocket has key clip for extra security.

The external compression straps allow you to crush the bag down and reduce the volume so the contents of a half full bag don’t rattle around. The straps also allow you attach poles to the outside of the bag.

Light but hardwearing

A duffle bag needs to be tough, and the Void certainly is, but it needs to be light too, otherwise you’ll end up eating into your baggage weight allowance. To achieve this fine balance between toughness and lightness we have used hardwearing materials from the same Ballistic family that we construct our bouldering pads with. To further increase durability the base is reinforced and there is no exposed stitching.

Three colour coded size options

The Void comes in three different sizes: 45l, 75l and 100l. The 45l version matches the maximum ‘carry on’ size for airline hand luggage, while the bigger sizes give you the freedom to carry all you need for an expedition or climbing holiday.

The bags are colour coded green 45l, red 75l and grey 100l to help with gear organisation on big trips. And lastly, it’s worth highlighting the distinctive ‘DMM’ look of the Void duffle bags – this makes them easy to spot in the airport luggage scrum!
