Saw Subject
There are so many manufacturers of Chainsaws on the market nowadays, it’s hard to know where to look. There are a few factors you have to consider when purchasing a new one.
1) Usage,
2) Build quality,
3) Budget most importantly.
“The last factor (Budget) is a priority for a lot of people nowadays. The Beauty of online shopping gives you the chance to look around for price and opinions before you buy.”
When you search for a Chainsaws you will see all sorts of manufacturers from Husqvarna to Stihl, Echo, Mc Cullouch to Evan saws that are big cc but with not know name. Remember my advise try to stay with mains stream makes as the do offer good saws at good money
Husqvarna ( check out the PPE)
There are many Chainsaws in the range but the one that stands out to me is the 560xp. This machine has a 59.8cc engine can cope with a 13-24″bar easily(I would recommend 13-18″)
Comes with .325 chain as standard. I have tried a 3/8 conversion with a 8 toothed sprocket and this makes it an Evan better saw.
The unique X-Torque engine provides more power where you need, this is down to the AutoTune engine which is an electronically controlled carburetor. This means it delivers 3.5kw and helps produce 75% fewer emissions and 20% less

Stihl
Again there are so manyChainsawsI could tell you guys about but the one that sticks in my head is the MS261 CM, this is a very versatile machine. It has a 50.2cc 2-Mix engine that is controlled my the M-Tronic system again an electronically controls the carburettor and ignition timing and fuel metering which mean it can adapt to the ambient temperatures around, this means it delivers 20% less fuel consumption and 50% more power, so it can power a 13-18″ bar ( I recommend 15″). The M-Tronic system has a memory function aswell. It has the HD2 cyclonic air filter, that is so easy to clean out and last twice as long as the old style. The saw also has captive side casing nuts and the top casing has 1/4 turn screws so you can do you regular cleaning easily. The saw only weighs 5.2kg. All in all this machine has become a very popular seller to professionals.
Top Handle Saws
Stihl
All time favorite the MS200t has now been laid to rest, with the introduction of the MS201 CM. This saw has all the M-Tronic functions of the 261 so the performance is phenomenal, weighs only 3.9kg and has the output of 35.2cc (2.4bhp). This saw combined with the brand new for 2015 MS193T which is a manually adjustable carburetor, 2 mix engine which produces 30.1cc 1.8bhp and weighs only 3.5kg again will be a very popular saw.
The MS150T at only 2.8kg in weight is an ultra lightweight pruning saw the 2 mix engine that produces 23.6cc 1.3bhp and is controlled by a manually operated carburetor has proven to be a popular sell to the arborists around Norfolk.
The future
With emission control levels and ethanol levels getting higher, manufacturers are looking a the lithium moron technology
Behold the future…..
